For over 25 years, Shepherd of the Hills Christian School has been serving our community by providing a Christ-centered and academically excellent education while encouraging a life of witness and mercy for kids from preschool through eighth grade.
Believe. Belong. Become.
In a world that is increasingly disconnected and fragmented, Shepherd of the Hills provides a place where families can belong, a place where beliefs are strengthened, and a place where all of us can develop our God-given gifts to become the people Christ has ordained us to be.
Shepherd is a place where students are known as individuals. Teachers, coaches, and administrators take the time to engage deeply with each student on an individual basis, building relationships that go beyond academic instruction to provide deeply personal mentoring and support. When you and your child are at Shepherd, you are family!
A community for all
At Shepherd, we believe school is not just for students. We all need a community to lean on and learn from as we raise our children in a complex and challenging world. Parents have many opportunities to participate in the Shepherd community; from volunteering in the classroom to chaperoning field trips, to serving coffee and pastries at one of our many before-and after-school events.
Our students have the opportunity to engage with other students across the school, not just in their own classroom. Older students participate in the mentoring of younger students through Faith Families, small-group devotional led by teachers, and through Chapel Chums, a program that provides one-on-one pairing of older students with younger students during weekly chapel. In addition, middle and junior high students regularly participate in activities like read-alongs with the younger students. These cross-classroom activities give older students the opportunity to develop leadership and mentoring skills while giving younger children role models and deep personal connections that support their growth and development.
