Shepherd of the Hills Christian School requires K-8 families to volunteer 20 hours in our school community. Godly service is an opportunity for us to continue to minister to our families and community and encourage a healthy school environment for all. Studies for organizations such as Volunteer Today indicate that 77% of educators and 81% of parents feel that volunteering shows the kids the importance of education. A study by Education Week cites that parents that volunteer in the classrooms have students that:
- Earn higher grades and test scores
- Attend school regularly
- Have better social skills and improved behavior
