Spring break is over.  We are looking at Easter, the end of the school year, and initial planning for next school year.  This week two candidates for the permanent principal position were interviewed and on April 15, the congregation will be asked to possibly call one of the candidates.  There appears to be some real strength within these two possibilities.

May 11 will be the annual field day held at Parker Lutheran High School.  Mr. Easton will organize the 1-8 students for their activities.  That is an exciting day for both student and parents.  You will receive more information later and hopefully you can come and cheer your student on.  In addition, on May 11 we will host the spring musical drama.  The spring music concert will be on May 17.  The math contest will be held April 27.

There is no school on Good Friday, April 6 or Easter Monday, April 9.

There will be a change for the band and instrumental program for next year.  Augustana Arts is no longer going to supply these teachers.  We are in the process of rebuilding the program to encourage music involvement and will plan to continue these programs.  We will keep you informed as more information becomes available.

We look forward to an exciting and productive spring as we examine the accreditation issues and evaluate the lunch program for next year.  The curriculum from preK-8 will be of prime interest for the next year.  We want to ensure we are at the forefront to provide a 21st Century educational system for every student.

God bless all of you and together we will help orchestrate the future through today’s students.

Mr. Herb Weissenfels
Interim Principal
